trip review

"Need more travel inspiration? January Sales of Culture Trip offers incredible savings on great places to stay, experiences, and our curated travel around the world."

Japan

Some places more legendary than the land of the rising sun. It may take some time to check out everything Japan has to offer, but whichever part you choose to visit, a wild ride awaits you. You will find majestic royal palaces with mario kart drivers, gays, sumo wrestlers, and people, as well as vast gardens and thousands of ancient temples (including the Todai-ji in Nara, the distinctive Buddha statue above, and the Senso-ji, the oldest temple in Tokyo). People walking around wearing animated costumes. You'll also find fellow travelers sleeping in small capsule hotels, fox-loving zoos (the only zoo in the world dedicated to foxes) in Sao Fox Village, and giant robots performing a battle / laser show at a robot restaurant in Tokyo.

Once you have done all the crazy things, you can enjoy the serenity of the Sagano Bamboo Forest in the heart of the busy Kyoto or climb to the top of the legendary Mount Fuji; Some of the paths are lined with numerous beautiful shrines. Of course, a trip to Japan would not be complete without the taste of good sushi - there are plenty of restaurants to choose from - or stay in traditional ryokan. Made of wood and containing tatami floors, these charming retreats feel like a private oasis in the midst of nature. You can explore the natural hot springs or onsen in Kinosaki.

Ireland

If you are looking for the right combination of history, culture and nature, you will find it in Ireland. Natural treasures include the moor's high cliffs and the Konemara area where Kylemore Abbey is located, and its Victorian face reflects the waters of Lake Pollack, all within a lush garden garden. For more views, you can choose from two beautiful routes: the Kerry Ring, the Ivorian Peninsula or the Wild Atlantic Way, stretching from the Inishoven Peninsula to Co Donegal to Kinsale, to Cork, across the Celtic Sea. On the coast. If you are interested in kayaking, consider trying it out in Cork in the evening - it's really magical. Spend some time exploring the Rock of Castle and the Blarney Castle near Cork, located in the limestone of the Golden Whale Area. The second is the home of the famous Blarney Stone, which is said to give the gift of eloquence to anyone who kisses it. For art and museums (like the Titanic Belfast and Guinness Storehouse) for all kinds of Irish entertainment (how about an Irish dance in a pub?), You should visit Belfast and Dublin. You can also find Trinity College in Dublin, home to the library, which houses the 800 BC Book of Kells, the world's most famous medieval manuscript. Not to be missed are the Newgrange Prehistoric Monument in County Meath or the ruins of the early medieval monastery on top of Skelly Michael Island.

Italy

There are many attractive cities and places to visit in Italy, all of which cannot be seen at once. A road trip would work, and Rome is a great place to start. You will be immersed in the history of the Vatican City with its historic and architectural gems, including the Pantheon and the Colosseum, as well as the Sistine Chapel adorned with Michelangelo's famous frescoes. Throw a coin into the Trevi fountain before leaving the city: it means you will be back here one day. Go north to Milan for modern art and design shopping. Meanwhile, art lovers will fall in love with the Renaissance churches in Florence featuring Giotto's beautiful frescoes in Santa Maria Novella.Naples is where pizza was invented, but there is practically no place in Italy where the food isn't great. Navigate along the canals of Venice with a gondola ride among large palaces; take a selfie in front of the Leaning Tower of Pisa and pass Juliet's House in Verona, the gothic style house with the stone balcony that inspired Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. If you are looking for instagrammable views and an abundance of nature, visit one of the towns around Lake Como or hike through woods and meadows in the shadow of the Dolomites. Whether you are looking for a quiet retreat or a new adventure, Italy will not disappoint you.

Thailand

Even before Leonardo DiCaprio made The Beach famous Maya Bay, you already know that Thailand has some of the best beaches in the world. Sure, the picture is excellent in depicting this paradise island, but the emerald water and white sand are of a very high standard in this country. Embrace the calm vibrations of sunset or Freedom Beaches and see for yourself. Even if you do not like to swim, there is much to discover here.

Thailand isn't short on Buddhist temples - there are more than 40,000 - so you'll be sure to find your favorite somewhere amidst all the gold. Then there are the colorful hill tribes in the north, who will give you a taste of the country's rich heritage. Ancient ruins abound and, in Sukhothai, date back to the Siamese kingdom in 1238. Meanwhile, Chiang Mai, to the north, was the capital of the Lanna kingdom until 1558; it is still dotted with spectacular Buddhist temples today. Head to Bangkok for sky bars, museums, galleries and parks, and don't miss Khao Yai National Park; tigers, wild boars and elephants roam freely here. Last but not least, are the many Thai markets where you will taste delicious delicacies and find precious antiques.

United Arab Emirates

Emirate of Abu Dhabi is home to Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, one of the most impressive mosques in the world, as well as architectural attractions such as the futuristic Yas Viceroy Hotel. For car racing fans, it overlooks the Yas Marina F1 circuit, which hosts the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix. Meanwhile, the Liwa Desert is where you can head for a safari adventure, passing dunes and oasis with palm and fruit trees.Head to Sharjah to learn all about Islamic history - the Museum of Islamic Civilization is home to the largest collection of Islamic artifacts in the UAE. Fujairah is perfect if you are looking for snorkeling among wrecks, seahorses, turtles and whale sharks. Finally there is Ras Al Khaimah, the fastest growing Emirati state in terms of tourism, which has presented itself as the ultimate wilderness escape in the UAE. You must enjoy all of the usual desert escapades here, as well as tackling the peaks of Jebel Jais, where you'll also find the longest zipline in the world.
